The Atlantic SingsThere’s a man that walks down my road on the days when the sky’s so blue that you feel like you’re going to fall off the earth. That man with a cane in each hand and a grumble falling onto his watermelon belly. A group of us sneak down from our apartments and stand next to him. We talk about the world, and how groceries aren’t gathered by other people for us anymore. It used to be the ideal life back then. Back when we were children chasing our feelings in little circles, hoping to grasp onto them eventually. Creation in DreamsFiercely and calmly, the darkness pulsed. The sky had yet to gain any expressions, and the world had yet to form any blemishes. The creatures scuttled along in that darkness, in that barren dream world; their eyes lost in the nothing that followed them. It wasn’t long though until they realized that this was not how it was to be. The kangaroos gathered in their meeting circles and looked about the gray earth, watching the few other animals buzz to each other. The buzzing grew louder and louder, and the silence lost its strength. Soon the creatures moved about each other, creating stories of greens and blues.
